Resumen
This executive summary focuses on a research project concerning three Colombian microenterprises – Soltecs, Ingesab and Protego – defined according to the 2019 Decree 957 criteria as having a workforce of fewer than 10 employees and assets below 501 minimum monthly legal wages. The primary aim of this study is to investigate and propose a strategic approach to address their financial challenges within the context of high bank interest rates in Colombia, with a view to promoting self-management and sustainable development.
The chosen methodology involves a theoretical appr006Fach that explores the potential of bootstrapping as a guide to accessing self-financing methods. Bootstrapping, which originated in the 1980s, emerges as a key tool to transform how microenterprises tackle their financial and operational hurdles.
Bootstrapping revolves around a company's ability to fund and expand operations by optimizing internal resources. Rather than heavily relying on high-interest bank loans, this approach encourages microenterprises to maximize the value of each monetary unit invested. The goal is to resolve the specific issue arising from Colombia's high bank interest rates, a problem that directly affects these microenterprises.
Keywords. Self-financing, Bootstrapping, Interest rates, microbusinesses, sustainable development.
