dc.description.abstractManufacturing processes tend to be standardized to ensure consistent production while maintaining product quality, this standardization leads to the improvement of processes through reengineering or redesign of them. With constant competition, the challenge of staying in the market and being a growing industry, it is necessary to update and improve processes to be able to sustain in a commercial environment that is daily more competitive and aggressive; and the enhancement of these is achieved through innovation and implementation of methodologies that guarantee the optimization of production to meet goals. As of this condition it is inferred that the research to redesign the current processes of the BIOPLAST company, and design the process from the transformation of recycled plastic into paving stones, under the Design Thinking methodology; is relevant and coherent under the parameters given in the objectives that trace the research route through the gathering of information and the development of each phase in which the process and development of each one was established, starting with the empathy phase, continuing with the definition phase, ideation, and the approach of the prototyping phase, and finally the evaluation phase to know the viability of the process, resulting in the validity and importance of implementing the methodology in the plastic production and transformation process, and in the redesign of the current bag manufacturing processes in the BIOPLAST company, located in Barbosa, Santander, guaranteeing optimization in production times, reduction in processes, as well as innovation applied to the final product, basing its viability on the survey applied, resulting in the viability of the production of plastic pavers, leading to the reduction and improvement within the production process, in addition to maximizing profitability in the company with the plastic paving stones; thus, leading to showing an ecological and economic alternative. Finally, based on the Design Thinking methodology, the redesign of the BIOPLAST company allows improving efficiency in the processes, times, and costs involved in production.
